Mr. Roberts has also played with many musical organizations including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Florida Orchestra, Opera Company of Boston, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Boston Academy of Music, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, New Hampshire Symphony, Portland Symphony, South Coast Chamber Music Society, Charles River Trio, Eos Ensemble and the Boston Classical Orchestra. He maintains a private studio in Needham and Hingham, and has performed solo recitals in Boston, Chicago, Florida, and the Washington, D.C. area. Broadcasts include WCVB TV Channel 5, WGBY Channel 44, WCRB, and live performances on “Classics in the Morning” “Morning Pro Musica” and “Classical Performances” on WGBH Radio in Boston. He is Founder and Artistic Director of the Art of Music Chamber Players, which began performances in the summer of 1997. There are now five separate concerts series in Boston, Brookline, and the “Concerts in the Country” at Wellesley and Duxbury and Canton. Mr. Roberts has performed in over 100 different programs. The Art of Music Chamber Players has also performed five times for WCRB’s “Classical at Copley”, and has given numerous performances for many years at the Gore Estate Summer concerts. The Players returned to both locations this summer. Last year he performed a cello recital at the Salle Cortot in Paris, and with AMCP members in St. Maarten in November of 2003. Mr. Roberts plays a Gabrielli cello, 1751, made in Florence.

Piotr Buczek

Piotr Buczek (violin) was born in Chorzow, Poland. He was a founding member of the Penderecki String Quartet, which since 1991 is quartet in residence at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo (Ontario, Canada). Mr.Buczek began violin studies at the age of eight. In 1986, he graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music, receiving a Diploma of Art with special distinction.

In 1986, Mr. Buczek left Poland to continue his music education in the United States. In 1986-88 he was assistant to Ralph Evans of the Fine Arts Quartet at the Chamber Music Institute in Milwaukee, where he received his Master Degree and took master classes with Pinchas Zukerman, Yo Yo Ma, Ursula Oppens, Shlomo Mintz, and others. Later, at the University of Maryland, he worked with Daniel Heifetz, and Arnold Steinhardt and John Dalley of the Guarneri Quartet. He also studied with Roman Totenberg at Boston University.

Mr. Buczek has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas with the Penderecki Quartet and as soloist and chamber musician. His discography includes eleven CD’s with the Penderecki Quartet. His chamber music partners have been: pianists Janina Fialkowska, Lev Natochenny, Jamie Parker, cellist Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, violinist Martin Beaver, clarinetist James Campbell, Fine Arts and St. Lawrence String Quartets, Gryphon Trio and many others. He is frequently heard on CBC Radio. In the fall of 1993 he performed a North American premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki String Trio in Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City. In 1995 he has appeared as a soloist with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra during Takefu Music Festival in Japan.

Mr. Buczek performs solo recitals, teaches and takes an active part in the musical life of Boston as a member of Boston Modern Orchestra Project, South Coast Chamber Music Society, Decompression Chamber Music and others.
