Donna Marie Cobert - South Coast Chamber Music SocietyDonna Marie Cobert has earned a reputation throughout New England as a prominent soloist and chamber musician.  She has appeared as english horn soloist with the Moravian Philharmonic in the Czech Republic where she premiered a concerto written for her by David L. Post.  It is recorded on MMC Recordings, Inc.

As founder of the New England Reed Trio, Ms. Cobert commissioned dozens of new pieces and was very active in promoting 20th-century wind repertoire.  Ms. Cobert has performed frequently on WGBH radio (89.7 FM).  In 1997, Ms. Cobert joined the Aiolos Collective, an International Double Reed Ensemble.  They have completed a recording of works by Dutch composer Jos Van Amelsfoort in Amsterdam.  Ms. Cobert is a member of the Simon Sinfonietta and performs frequently with the Rhode Island Philharmonic.  Other engagements include the Boston Ballet, the Bethlehem(PA) Bach Choir, Alea III, the Irish Tenors, and the Hartford Symphony.  She holds degrees from Western Washington University and Northwestern University, and has continued post-graduate study in Amsterdam.  Primary teachers and mentors have included Ray Still, Fred Cohen, Bart Schneemann, and Cheryl Priebe Bishkoff.  Ms. Cobert is founder and Artistic Director of the South Coast Chamber Music Society, which began performances in the summer of 2001.
